Abstract

In an effort to improve early nutrition, the Indonesian government has introduced the "Movement to Promote Fish Consumption" (GEMARIKAN) program, aimed at increasing fish consumption among the public. This program is expected to educate the community on the importance of consuming fish as a source of protein and to raise awareness of the health benefits associated with eating fish. This study aims to explore in depth the role of the East Jakarta government's public relations in campaigning for the GEMARIKAN program. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. The reason for conducting this study is to understand the role of government public relations in promoting the GEMARIKAN program. As part of efforts to reduce stunting rates, the East Jakarta City Administration is actively promoting the GEMARIKAN 2024 campaign among elementary school children in East Jakarta public schools. And the results obtained were that the role of government public relations in the Gemarikan campaign in East Jakarta had gone quite well, even though the implementation was not optimal, through two approaches, namely a persuasive and educative approach and a collaborative approach.
